Zeus. Autonomy in the air.

Zeus brings the TwoBlue mission engine to UAVs, fixed-wing or multirotor. It flies a Poseidon mission package from take-off to landing: transits, tasks, loiter and the way home, with progress reported at every comms window.

Features

What Zeus does.

Detect and avoid

Gives way to other aircraft under the rules of the air, then rejoins its route.

Autonomous navigation

Flies its route from take-off to landing at HOME, deciding the next waypoint inside its geofence.

Climb, descent and terrain following

Holds its height above the ground along the route, with terrain from Nereus via Poseidon.

Mission execution

Flies the Poseidon mission package: transits, tasks, loiter and the way home.

Store and forward communications

Progress and contacts are held on board and reported at every comms window.

Use cases

Where Zeus is used.

Avoiding no-go zones

Stays out of no-go areas, with geofences that have floors and ceilings.

Stealth approach

Approaches an area of interest on a route planned to keep the aircraft unobtrusive.

Loiter on station

Holds station over a point of interest, then turns for HOME on its energy reserve.

Photo reconnaissance

Follows the terrain along a line and images the area as it goes.

Illustrative scenario

Extending a patrol from the air

Zeus lifts off to extend a Trident patrol from the air. It follows the terrain on the way out, stays inside a geofence with a floor and a ceiling, gives way to a crossing aircraft, reports its contacts through Labrador Edge, and turns for HOME when its energy reserve says so.

Missions

The same ten mission types as Trident.

From surveillance to swarm deployment, planned by Poseidon and flown by Zeus.

Every mission collects data. Whatever the mission, the vehicle records its sensors the whole way: positions, contacts, acoustic, magnetic and optical data, and environmental measurements such as temperature, salinity and currents, plus any other information the customer needs. Everything goes into the on-board data recorder. Short updates come home during the mission. At the end, the full data set comes home over the high-bandwidth link, with a tamper-evident, sealed mission report. Encryption with commercially available or customer-provided software is optional. On Surveillance, collecting data can be the aim itself, with your own payload on board.
