Xaltcraft Technologies has been selected for the ideaBUILD Fall 2026 cohort at Emera ideaHUB, Dalhousie University’s innovation hub in Halifax.
We are pleased to share that Xaltcraft Technologies has joined the ideaBUILD Fall 2026 cohort at Emera ideaHUB. The program began in October with a kickoff at the HUB on Dalhousie’s Sexton Campus, where we met the cohort, the ideaHUB team and its experts in residence.
What ideaBUILD brings
ideaBUILD supports start-ups that are building engineered products. It combines workshops on market research and growth, coaching from experienced founders and experts, engineering support from ideaHUB’s partners, and a place in Halifax’s community of founders, researchers and industry.
What we will work on
X-MAS, the Xaltcraft Maritime Awareness System, is hardware and software working as one, with TwoBlue, our software, at its heart. In ideaBUILD we are developing our sensor data fusion hardware: the units that bring readings from many sensors together into one picture and pass it to TwoBlue. The program’s engineering support and coaching help us take that hardware from prototype to product.
It comes alongside our place in Invest Nova Scotia Accelerate. Where Accelerate helps us take TwoBlue to market, ideaBUILD focuses on the fusion hardware that feeds it.
“Halifax is a remarkable place to build ocean technology, and Dalhousie is at the centre of it. ideaBUILD gives our engineers access to people who have taken hardware from prototype to product, which is exactly the road X-MAS is on.”
Nikhil Vidwans, CEO, Xaltcraft Technologies
We are grateful to the Emera ideaHUB and Dalhousie University teams for the welcome and for the faith they have placed in our ability to deliver, and we intend to give back to the province and the country that have given us so much. Congratulations to our fellow founders in the Fall 2026 cohort.
